Jacqui Scarlett Founder, Compass and Cairn Consulting Outdoor Industry MBA Candidate, Western Colorado University

Jacqui is an operations consultant dedicated to helping outdoor and active-lifestyle brands build resilient, scalable backend systems.

As a candidate in Western Colorado University’s Outdoor Industry MBA program, Jacqui pairs advanced business training with deep industry-specific insights across sustainable supply chains, brand strategy, and process optimization. Compass and Cairn was founded on the belief that great outdoor products deserve equally sharp, efficient operations behind the scenes.

Prior to launching the firm, Jacqui completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail—a 2,190 mile test of endurance, self-sufficiency, and logistics. That trail experience directly informs the firm’s philosophy: operational clarity is built one waypoint at a time through disciplined execution, pragmatic problem-solving, and systems that actually hold up under pressure.

Today, Jacqui partners with emerging and established outdoor businesses to untangle complex workflows, implement reliable standard operating procedures, and create sustainable paths toward long-term growth.

Before launching Compass and Cairn, Jacqui led operations and process initiatives at high-growth tech enterprises—saving over $4M in operating and labor costs for LinkedIn’s customer support division through workflow optimization, and driving a 23% CSAT boost alongside a 20% increase in reorder rates at Instacart. Today, Jacqui brings that same data-driven enterprise discipline to outdoor and active-lifestyle businesses.
